Your notification settings control the timing and the delivery of your alerts.
Opening your notification settings
Click your name in the app header and select Notification Settings.
Setting your alert schedule
Your alert schedule is the window during which you want to be notified; outside it, alerts are suppressed for you. Set the days and times you want alerts.
Getting the daily forecast email
You can opt-in to a daily forecast email for your locations. It is sent at 4:00 AM US Central Time every day.
Choosing how you are notified
Perry Weather can reach you three ways:
- Push notification: Delivered to the Perry Weather mobile app on your phone. Requires the app installed and notifications allowed at the device level.
- SMS: A text message to the mobile number on your profile.
For life-safety alerting, turn on more than one channel: push depends on your device's own notification permissions, and SMS depends on carrier delivery.
Choose your alert mode on the same screen:
- Scheduled for your set hours
- Location-based for when you are inside a geofenced area
- Scheduled or Location for either
National Weather Service and other policy-driven alerts
Your admin determines which weather alerts reach you, including National Weather Service alerts. An admin creates an NWS policy, selects which of the alert categories to include and a minimum severity (Statement, then Advisory, Watch and Warning) and assigns the user groups that receive it. You get the NWS alerts covered by the policies assigned to your groups.
If an alert you expect never arrives, your notification settings may be fine and the policy may not cover you. Check with your admin, and see Creating Policies and Policy Management for how NWS alert categories and severity levels work.
