Air quality data is available in the Perry Weather Dashboard. Here’s how it works:
- If you have on-site hardware, air quality data will be recorded directly from the weather station. If no on-site hardware is available, the dashboard will display data from OpenAQ, our air quality data partner, from their closest AQI sensor. Data from OpenAQ will appear only if there's an OpenAQ station within 10 miles of the location you're viewing.
- Air quality is shown on the home page, just below the current conditions card.
- Tap “View Details” to see more information.
You’ll see:
- The current NowCast AQI, with the 1-Hr and 24-Hr values for PM2.5 and PM10, and the 1-Hr and 8-Hr values for ozone
- The source of each reading, shown as OpenAQ or Perry Weather
- The distance to each sensor, in miles
What we track:
- PM2.5
- PM10
- Ozone
The card shows one gauge, for the pollutant with the highest current AQI (the Air Quality Details will identify the primary pollutant affecting air quality in your area). Open View Details to see all three pollutants.
Getting alerted when air quality drops
Dashboard readings are display only. To be notified when air quality worsens, create an air quality policy: the Air Quality category offers Air Quality Index, Air Quality Index (PM2.5), Air Quality Index (PM10) and Air Quality Index (Ozone), each with a threshold you set and an alert that fires when the index reaches or passes it.
