The map and live radar, while still accessible by tapping on a location and scrolling to the “Radar”, now also has a dedicated “Radar” tab at the bottom of the interface. It’s been redesigned to be easier to use, and offers more customization options, depending on what information is most relevant to you. Here’s how to use it:
- Tap the “Radar” tab at the bottom of the app to open up the radar.
- To see the Past-Hour conditions, simply press the “Play” icon located in the bottom left corner of the screen. If you’d like to see the forecasted “Next-Hour” or “Next 48-Hours” weather conditions, simply tap the “Past-Hour” text, located to the right of the “Play” icon, and select your desired timeframe.
- Lightning strikes are color-coded to show their age at a glance (0-5 mins, 5-15 mins, 15-30 mins).
- To adjust what is seen on the radar, tap the “Layers” icon, located in the upper right hand corner of the radar (Looks like three stacks of paper on top of each other). From here, you can select the desired conditions you’d like to display on the live radar, such as NWS Alerts, Road Conditions, your lightning rings around your organization’s location, and more.
- You can also change what is displayed on your organization’s location. To do this, tap the “Pencil” icon, located directly below the “Layers” icon. You can change between displaying icons such as pins, the temperature, wind, precipitation, or the WBGT.
- To recenter your position to be directly on top of your organization’s location, simply tap the “Scope” icon, located near the upper right hand of the screen.
