Creating, editing, and managing widgets

Create my widget

  1. Navigate to the widget-building tool and click Add Widget.
  2. Select the organization location you're creating the widget for and give your widget a name.
  3. Pick your primary condition preference. This will take up most of the page along with the lightning timer.
  4. Optionally, add secondary conditions, an Hourly Forecast and a Daily Forecast. The current conditions come from the weather station associated with your location, or from the nearest available data source.
  5. Under Red Text for Policy Warnings, select the policies whose warnings the widget should show in red. Include a Lightning Radius 1 (LR1) policy: the lightning delay countdown timer follows that policy, and the widget will not save without one. To assign the location to a lightning policy first, see Creating Policies and Policy Management.
  6. Add a custom message to communicate updates or announcements. Give it an expiration date so you can set it and forget it.
  7. Under Appearance, choose a Theme (Dark or Light) and a Display (Default, Image or Radar).
  8. Click Save Widget.

Share my widget

  1. On the widget's card, click Get Embed Code.
  2. Use the copy tool to copy and paste the embed code needed for websites. Choose Responsive or a fixed width first.
  3. To add your widget to your member app, digital scoreboard, smart TV, etc. use the copy tool to copy and paste the Shareable URL. Anyone with the link can open it.
  4. To send setup instructions to someone on your team, enter their email under Send via email.

 

Edit or delete my widget

  1. Navigate to the Widgets page and find the widget's card. Search by name if you have more than six.
  2. Click Edit Widget to reopen it in the builder, make your changes and click Save Widget.
  3. To remove it, click Delete Widget at the top of the builder and confirm. Deleting a widget is permanent.

Owners and Admins can create, edit and delete any widget. Limited Admins can edit or delete only the widgets they created (What are user permissions?). Your plan level determines the maximum number of widgets you can create
