Hardware 101

Outdoor Warning System (OWS)

  1. Navigate to the On-site Hardware page.
  2. Click the Edit button.
  3. Adjust the sound duration for both the lightning delay siren and all clear siren.
  4. Set the audible alert schedule per day of the week.

Public Address Feature (text-to-speech)

  1. Click the Send PA Message button from the top right corner of the On-site Hardware page.
  2. Click the link to go to your message library.
  3. Create the PA messages you will want to use. This is required to add a lightning delay and all clear message following your siren.
  4. Navigate back to the On-site Hardware page and click the Edit button on your OWS again.
  5. You can find your messages in the "saved messages" drop-down.

System Testing

  1. Click the test drop-down you see on your OWS.
  2. You can test your lightning delay siren, all clear siren, and your strobe light. 
  3. Click the Send PA Message button test the PA. You can select one of your saved messages or type a custom message. Once you click "submit" the message will play. 

Multi-unit Testing

  1. To select multiple units for testing, click the check box in the top right corner of each unit tile. 
  2. A "Bulk Actions" control will appear at the top of the page. 
  3. You will have the same PA message, lightning delay siren, all clear siren, and strobe light tests available. This command will trigger all selected units.
